Thames Water identified a need for training to be provided for the driver of lorries operated by their waste management contractors.
This training is considered necessary in order to ensure that the drivers of vehicles which carry waste have a basic understanding of their role and responsibility in the lawful movement and disposal of waste.

The Environment Agency as part of it's WCIP South East Intervention Campaign has identified a need to raise awareness amongst the drivers of vehicles carrying waste of their duties and obligations under current waste legislation and are looking at new ways to undertake this through partnership working.

Can Studios produced this trial project to establish the benefits and effectiveness of a designated training package. This may be rolled out further across the construction and demolition industry.
